This is not a fault within Quake 2007. Distorted sound output is almost always due to incorrect sound card drivers being used by Xp. Windows XP will often install generic sound card drivers (Get you going drivers !). Quake 2007 requires the full set of sound card capabilities, therefore to ensure distortion free output, You may need to uninstall a default driver and install the sound card driver which came with the sound card.
Although Quake Virtual DJ Should Always be installed on a dedicated system (A clean XP installed machine), we recognise the fact, that for evaluation purposes, many of you will install the program on a non dedicated computer.
From Version 1.1.5 A New Configuration entry allows you to switch off the Spectral Display drivers which can sometimes cause sound distortion on non dedicated Machines.
